Check Scanning Setup and Troubleshooting Guide
Connect your check scanner, give your team access, and resolve common setup messages.
Check Scanning begins when you click Scan Checks from the SecureGive check scanning portal while logged in. At that point, the device software download is prompted. Before you start, make sure your scanner is connected to your computer and powered on.
How do I set up check scanning permissions for users?
To add check scanning permissions for users:
- Invite the users to SecureGive.
- Provide the names of the individuals who need check scanning access.
- If a user is not already listed in the SecureGive Admins section, add the user there and have the user accept the invite.
Troubleshooting
What should I do if the device software download does not appear?
If the download is not prompted after selecting Scan Checks, confirm that:
- You are logged into the check scanning portal.
- Your scanner is connected to your computer.
- Your scanner is powered on.
If it still does not appear, contact support for assistance.
What should I do if I see a message about the Check Scanning Admin ID?
If the system says you do not have a Check Scanning Admin ID, contact support so the account can be set up for check scanning.
What should I do if I see “Retrieving Scanner Terminal Number”?
If this message appears, reset the scanner and try again. If it continues, provide the scanner’s serial number and model so the setup can be reviewed.
