Connect The Ingenico Lane/3600 Card Reader To Power And To The Internet
Instructions on how to get your Ingenico card reader powered up, online, and ready for use
To use the new Ingenico Lane/3600 card reader with the kiosk, it must first be connected to a power source and to the internet.
The card reader has one cable that plugs into it. The other end of that cable splits into two separate ends that have a Ethernet connector and a power cable. Once the power cable is connected to a power source, the card reader will automatically turn on. It will say, "Disconnected" on its front display until it is also connected to the internet.
Please see the two options below for connecting the card reader to the internet:
Option 1: Our best recommendation is to connect the card reader to its own dedicated hardwired internet connection. If needed, you can use a splitter to connect both the card reader and computer to the internet from a single source.
However, there may be situations where Wi-Fi is the only internet source that's available. While the card reader cannot connect directly to the internet via Wi-Fi, there is an option below that can allow the card reader to utilize your Wi-Fi network.
Option 2: Connect the card reader to a Wi-Fi dongle that feeds an internet signal out through its LAN port. We've included a link below to purchase the device. The dongle cost around $40, and it takes about 15-20 minutes to set it up.
