Install & Register or Re-Register the SecureGive Windows Kiosk App
If the kiosk app ever needs to be deleted and reinstalled, then follow the steps below to do that. You will either need to plug in an external keyboard or bring up an on-screen keyboard to complete these steps.
Delete Existing Kiosk App
- Select the kiosk shortcut icon on the desktop and drag it into the Recycle Bin.
- Open Control Panel and go to Uninstall A Program.
- Highlight the SecureGive kiosk app from the list of programs and choose Uninstall.
- Click into the address bar at the top of the window and type in %AppData%. Then hit Return on your keyboard. It will open up to the Roaming folder.
- Click on the App Data folder in the address bar.
- Open the Local folder that’s listed below the address bar.
- Delete the SecureGive Kiosk folder and the sgkiosk-updater folder.
Install App
- Launch Microsoft Edge and visit https://app.securegive.com/download.
- Sign in using your admin login credentials.
- Click the Download Kiosk button.
- Once the file has downloaded, click Open File.
- At the “Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?” pop-up, click Yes.
- Once the kiosk app has finished installing, it will automatically launch the Register Kiosk page. Sign in using your admin login credentials.
- Choose if you want to Register a New Kiosk or Reregister a Kiosk.
Register a New Kiosk: Use this option if the kiosk will be assigned to a new or unused kiosk license. This will use up any new or unused kiosk licenses on the org’s account. Enter a name for this kiosk (something like “Kiosk 1”). The kiosk name will be visible in the bottom left of the screen.
Reregister a Kiosk: If you want the kiosk to be assigned to a kiosk license that’s already in use, then choose this option. Select which existing license you want to use for the registration. Once this kiosk is registered, it will remove the registration from the kiosk that had it previously.
- Select a Card Reader by tapping on the serial number of the card reader to pair it with the kiosk app. (The card reader's serial number is also shown at the top of the card reader's display.) If you need to register multiple kiosks, make sure to choose the serial number of the card reader that is attached to the kiosk you’re currently working on.
Once the pairing process has completed, you will be signed out of your administrative account, and the organization’s giving page will load. - Finally, complete a $1 test transaction on the kiosk to make sure everything is working properly.
