If the kiosk app ever needs to be deleted and reinstalled, then follow the steps below to do that.
Delete Existing Kiosk App
- Go to Control Panel > Uninstall A Program.
- Highlight the SecureGive kiosk app from the list of programs and choose Uninstall.
- Open File Explorer and type in: %appdata%. Then hit enter
- It will open up to the Roaming folder. Then click on App Data in the top field.
- Then click on the Local folder.
- Delete the SecureGive Kiosk folder and the sgkiosk-updater folder.
Install and Register Kiosk App
- Visit https://app.securegive.com/
download and sign in with your SecureGive admin login credentials. - Click the Download Kiosk button.
- As the file starts downloading, you will see a warning message: "SecureGive + Kiosk_Setup 1.101.25.exe isn't commonly downloaded." Hover over the left side of the message, and you'll see 3 dots appear. Click the 3 dots, and then click Keep from the drop-down menu.
- Then you'll be asked to make sure you trust the SecureGive file that you downloaded. Click the down error next to Show More. Then click Keep Anyway.
- Once the file has completely downloaded, then click Open File.
- At the "Windows protected your PC" window, click More Info. Then click Run Anyway.
- At the “Do you want to allow this app from an unknown publisher to make changes to your device?” pop-up, click Yes.
- Once the kiosk app has finished installing, it will automatically launch the Register Kiosk page. (If the Register Kiosk page doesn't automatically show, then click the SecureGive icon on the taskbar to switch to that app.)
- Enter your SecureGive admin login credentials
- Choose if you want to Register a New Kiosk or Reregister a Kiosk.
- Register a New Kiosk: Use this option if you're setting up a new kiosk for the first time. This takes up any unused kiosk licenses on your org’s account. Enter a name for this kiosk (something like: Kiosk 1). Note: The kiosk name will be visible in the bottom left of the screen so you can easily see which is which.
- Reregister a Kiosk: If you had to set up a new computer in the kiosk, or if you want to move the license from one kiosk to another, you can choose this option. Select which existing license you want to use for the registration, and then tap the "Begin Using the New Kiosk" button. Note: once this kiosk is registered, it will remove the registration from the kiosk that had it previously.
-
If your kiosk uses a basic card swipe (non tap/chip), then the registration process is complete. You will be signed you out of your administrative account, and the standard giving page will load.
If your kiosk uses an Ingenico Lane/3000 or Lane/3600 card reader, then you will see an additional "Select a Card Reader" page. From there, tap on the card reader's 24 digit serial number to begin a pairing process between the kiosk app and card reader. Once that is done, the registration process will be complete. You will be signed out of your administrative account, and the standard giving page will load. -
Finally, complete a $1 test transaction on the kiosk to make sure everything is working properly.
