Zapier Integration

SecureGive now integrates with Zapier, making it easier than ever to connect SecureGive with the other apps and tools you use every day with no coding required.

With Zapier, you can automate workflows (called Zaps) between SecureGive and thousands of other apps. For example, you can:

  • Send donation information from SecureGive to Quickbooks.

  • Post donation activity into an internal Slack channel.

  • Add new donors to an email list in MailChimp.

  • Keep spreadsheets up-to-date without manual data entry.

Getting Started

  1. Generate Your API Key in SecureGive

    • Log in to your SecureGive Admin account

    • Navigate to Settings > API Keys

      • If you don't see this option, you may not be on a plan that provides access to the SecureGive API. Reach out to SecureGive Support if you'd like to get started with the SecureGive API

    • Click Add API Key

    • Give the API key a memorable Nickname so you can remember what it is for (internal use only)

    • Choose API from the Category dropdown

    • For Authorized Scopes, multi-select what data you want this API key to be able to access

      • For example, if you want to use Zapier to put Transactions into a Google Sheet, then select Transaction as one of the Authorized Scopes

    • Select your desired Key Expiration

      • This is a security feature that expires this specific API key after the expiration date. Once expired, simply create a new API Key and update it in Zapier

    • Be sure to save this API key in a safe place as it cannot be accessed again once the window is closed

  2. Connect SecureGive to Zapier

    • Add SecureGive into your existing Zap or go to SecureGive on the Zapier App Directory

    • Choose one of the app pairings or pre-built templates to get started

    • When editing your zap, you will be prompted in the SecureGive Zapier App to connect your account by paste your SecureGive API key to be able access your SecureGive account data

  3. Build Your Zaps

    • Choose a Trigger (an event in SecureGive that starts a Zap) or an Action (an event Zapier performs in SecureGive).

    • Connect SecureGive to other apps you use.

    • Customize the workflow and publish your Zap
