Connect The Ingenico Lane/3600 Card Reader To The Internet

To use the new Ingenico Lane/3600 card reader with the kiosk, it must first be connected to a power source and to the internet.

The card reader has one cable that plugs into it. The other end of that cable splits into two separate ends that have a Ethernet connector and a power cable. Once the power cable is connected to a power source, the card reader will automatically turn on.

At this point, the card reader will say, "Disconnected" on its front display until it is connected to the internet, and there are a couple of different options for connecting it to the internet.

Option 1: Our recommendation is to connect the card reader to its own dedicated hardwired internet connection. If needed, you can use a splitter to connect both the card reader and computer to the internet from a single source.

However, there may be situations where Wi-Fi is the only internet source that's available and it's not possible to connect the card reader to a hardwired internet connection. While the card reader cannot connect directly to the internet via Wi-Fi, there is another option:

Option 2: Using a Wi-Fi dongle would allow your card reader to utilize the Wi-Fi signal but connect via a cable. The hardware costs around $30, and the setup steps take about 10-15 minutes to complete.  Below is a link to an example of a dongle that can be used:
