How To Set Up A Stand-Alone Kiosk
The Metrolite kiosk will be delivered to your facility on a crate and packaged inside a box. Follow these steps to get your kiosk set up and ready to receive donations.
1. Once the box has been lifted from the crate, use the attached key to open the bottom door of the kiosk.
2. Inside the base is the computer that is strapped inside. Underneath the computer is where the kiosk is bolted to the crate. Undo the bolts in order to remove the kiosk unit from the crate.
3. Once the kiosk is removed from the crate, connect the kiosk's electrical cord to a nearby outlet. The kiosk is turned on from inside the back panel or you may use the power strip in the bottom.
4. You can connect your kiosk to the internet with either an ethernet cable or through Wi-Fi. If you have trouble connecting your kiosk to the internet, make sure Ports 80 & 443 are open in your network. Our servers require these ports to be open.
5. Complete a touchscreen calibration (see steps below).
6. The kiosk software is located on the Windows desktop. Double-click the Kiosk icon to launch it.
How To Calibrate The Touchscreen
The touchscreen may need to be calibrated after shipment.
1. Hold your finger on the Pointer Device Settings icon at the right of the Taskbar. Doing that will simulate a right-click. (You can also connect a mouse to do that.)
2. Choose Adjust Settings in the menu.
3. Highlight the Calibration tab on the left side of the UPDD Console dialog box.
4. Change the number of calibration points to 25, and check the Confirm After Calibration box.
5. Then tap on the Calibrate button at the lower left corner.
6. Touch the touch points and Confirm.
