Create QR Code or Direct Category Link

The Direct Link feature allows you to generate a custom QR code or URL link that you can share. You can choose if you want to allow members to setup recurring transactions and you can also choose to pre-fill a suggested amount for specific categories. You can also set up direct links and QR codes to hidden locations and hidden categories.

NOTE: The QR code and Direct Link shown when you first land on this page are to your main SecureGive landing page. As you refine the options in the following steps, this will update the QR code and link in real time to match your current selection, and you can download the QR code at the desired step.

To get started:

  1. Go to Categories > Direct Links
  2. Choose a Location
  3. Choose if you'd like members to be able to set up a recurring transaction or not (this is enabled by default)
  4. Choose a Transaction Type
  5. Pick one or more Categories
    • After you choose a category, you’ll have the option to enter a pre-fill amount for each category. Members will still be able to change that number to any amount they choose when visiting the link.

Now that your link has been created, you can choose to copy the link generated or download the generated QR code as a raster .png or vector .svg file type.

Troubleshooting Notes:

If all categories in a direct link/QR code become deactivated, then the user will be redirected to the default main giving page. If a direct link/QR code is created with multiple categories, and if one of the categories becomes deactivated, then the direct link/QR code will still display with the remaining active categories. If the location in a direct link/QR code becomes deactivated, a 404 error page will show. These scenarios can be resolved by either reactivating the location or categories that were used in the direct link/QR code or by generating a new direct link/QR code under a different location or categories.
