You can choose which categories need to be displayed or hidden for each or your locations by following the steps below.
*Please note that If you have just added a new location, then all categories are hidden by default for that location until you choose which ones to display.
- Go to Categories > Donations or Categories > Purchases
- Then select a location by clicking the location selector at the right.
- Then choose a location
At this point, you can see which categories are showing on the location's giving page by looking at the display toggle. If the toggle is on, then the category is displayed. (See screenshot below.)
If the toggle is on the left, then it is hidden. - Then choose which categories need to be displayed or hidden by clicking the display toggle.
Displayed category still not showing?
If a category's display toggle is turned on, but the category is not showing on your giving page, then that means the category is not active. To make a category active, click on the Edit Category button, then check the Active checkbox, and click Save Changes.
Difference Between Inactive and Hidden Categories
If you make a category inactive or hidden, it will no longer show on your giving page. The "Hidden" option is when the display toggle is turned off for a specific location. If you have multiple locations, you can hide a category for one location and display it for another. Making a category inactive will deactivate it from all locations regardless of whether the displayed toggle is turned on.
What happens to recurring transactions that give to a category that is made hidden or inactive?
If you have made a category inactive or hidden, any recurring transactions already set up to that category will continue to process to it. However, if the giver edits their recurring transaction, they will have to reallocate the amount from the inactive or hidden category to an active and displayed category.
